What better time to make a special person in your life a card, than Valentines day?
We all remember giving each other Valentines cards in grade school, and excitedly opening them with friends. It always filled me with great joy to give my classmates homemade cards that were construction paper and hard-work. My favourite one that I could remember was I cut out different sized hearts, to create little mouses, with the phrase ‘mice to be your friend!’. Not bad for a 7 year old.
Although, Valentines for some, is not the happiest of holidays.
A song that came into my radar, right around Valentines was The Moral of the Story by Ashe (she’s on Spotify and is amazing!) struck me on a different chord. I researched a bit and found out that she wrote this song about her divorce from her partner.
As a child of divorce, and a person who was cheated on in a previous relationship, this song spoke to me on a deep level.
The lyrics had sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn’t do anything but write out the words.
So, I recorded the final product and put the music in the background.
I plan to post more videos of lyrics, or quotes, or things I just find inspiring and I can’t help but write down.
This is also great practice for me to flush out fonts for future cards!
If you guys have any suggestions or ideas for any quotes that I can do for practice, please comment down below and I’ll do a post from the fans!
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines, and if it wasn’t so lovely, then remember that all the chocolate will be on sale the next day 😉
